Learning Hangul Vowels eu!
This one was actually the hardest for me to comprehend. There doesnt seem to be an english word that really sounds like this and for me it sounded almost exactly like the other o or u type of vowels. Then I found a few videos online that helped to clear this up for me.
Think of it as an ‘uhh’ sound but spread your mouth wide (like the post it note guy!) it’s something between an uhh and ewww…sort of.

Today’s vowel is A, sounds similar to saying ‘ah’
I remember the symbol for a because the little foot on the symbol is after the main vertical line.

Let’s Learn the Korean alphabet, Hangul!!
Todays vowel is eo. This one was sort of confusing to me at first because it sounds similar to eu. The best way I can describe the sound is somwhere between the ‘o’ in october and ‘uh’ sound.

today’s vowel is o. I remember o because the small foot of the character is Over the longer horizontal line and it sounds similar to the ‘o’ in Over or Oppa!

U, I remember this by thinking about the short leg of the character being UNDER the longer horizontal line. It sounds similar to the ‘oo’ in Boot, or Ooh lala.

Starting with the vowels, this is I, sounds like the “ee” in tree!
Please note: I am still new to the Korean language so if anyone has any tips/tricks or notices any errors, just let me know! =D

Please note…there are two number systems in Korea, this was the native system and is used for counting number of items or age. While the Sino-Korean system is used for things like dates, phone numbers and money, money money! 
I plan to go over the Sino-Korean system but have decided to go over the alphabet first! So next stop, Korean alphabets!!

Travel Tuesday! - Maze Stone in Hemet, CA

Hello and Happy Travel Tuesday!

Today's photos are of the Maze Stone in Hemet, CA.

During my road trips I like to scout out smaller points of interest, since it's a great way to stop and stretch your legs and see interesting things on the way. This stop turned out to be at least 500 years old! (well according to an article I read anyway. La Times - Mazes Remain Enigmas of Ancient Indian Art)



I was not able to find a whole lot of info, but according to Wikipedia, the owner of this land in Hemet found this weird stone with a maze/petroglyph carvings on his land. He ended up donateing it and the surrounding land to Riverside County! When archeologist took a look around in the area, they found pottery, and by dating the surrounding artifacts they were able to estimate that the stone was at least 500 years old!



The Legend is (though I'm not sure where the legend originated) that the petroglyph was created by lost Chinese sailors that were in the area in the 15th-ish century!!  Whether that is true or not (probably not) the maze stone and whom ever carved it is still a mystery...

Psylocke - Xmen fanart!

The thing that most inspired my imagination during childhood was comic books. But not just any comic books, Marvel's X-Men Comics. They were the best! I stopped collecting them around the time I started college.
As we grow up life can get in the way of the things that keep us creative but I am older, wiser, and have a teeny bit of dispossable income so now, I'm collect comics again!

Travel Tuesday - abandon car outside of Baker, CA

Happy #TravelTuesday!! I have been super busy with school lately so I have had to slack off on these travel tuesdays but I'm gonna get back on track!

Today's photo was from one of our roadtrips to Death Valley and along the way we usually stop in Baker, CA for supplies and take a long road to Death Valley. Along that road there is a large flat dirt plane area that generally houses an indigenous abandon speed boat and we always go hike out to it to see where it has moved to.
Well this time around we did not only find our friendly neighborhood speed boat but also found this new indigenous abandon race car!! I wish I knew were it came from or how it got there. needless to say, the road to Death Valley is full of surprises. =D

The name Don Howell is on the side of the car and I was not able to find a whole lot of info about him online and there was a sticker for Jerry's extreme machine on the side and all I could find out was that Jerry's is in Nevada (which was not that far from where we were) so this car is something of a mystery to me.

#caturday saturday - Casper

Happy Saturday Caturday!
I hope you are having a relaxing weekend!

I thought I would mix it up a bit and post my parents cat Casper. At the time he was really into climbing this tree in the backyard but there was a bird nest in there and the bird would chase him out of the tree. I think I even have video somewhere of the bird swooping at him and chasing Casper away. Casper may not be the smartest cat but I will say he was persistent and never ran from battle!
Neither cat nor bird were harmed though. =D

#TravelTuesday - Extraterrestrial Highway 375

Happy #traveltuesday everyon!
today's pic is from Extraterrestrial Highway in Rachel, Nevada

This was taken on our Area 51 road trip were we made a stop at the little A'le'inn and then headed over Area 51! Or at least as far as we could go without getting arrested. =P
We did not see an aliens but we did have some good food and saw some beautiful desert landscapes!

Area 51 was cool, but without any aliens around its really just a lot of dirt and a man with a gun (I assume) in a little shack making sure we don't cross the line! Don't cross the line!

#TravelTuesday - North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve - Oroville, CA

Happy #traveltuesday, we got thru Monday yay!
Today's pic is from North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve in Oroville, CA

North table mountain looks like this big mountain but with a flat top. It was created by lava basalt flows!... honestly I don't know much about the geology of it but I do know that it was really amazing and beautiful.
We were able to roam around the vista and see over the green lush landscape and as we walked in certain parts, there were thousands of grasshoppers hopping in the grass. we even got to look out at the lanscape from the top of a watterfall...well, there was not much water coming down at the time but it was still amazing.

And there were so many cows there!! I have never been so scared of cows in my life. When you come even a little close to them they all star mooing and communicating with each other. It was kind of creepy and surreal. There was a warning sign saying to stay 300 ft away from the WILD cattle...and we did! Never underestimate the warnings of a wild cow. Nevertheless it was really wonderful and if your ever in Oroville, CA you should check it out.
